Bubby's Kitchen ("Bubby's Kitchen," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you when you visit our website(s), including bubbyskitchen.org and any associated forms, pages, or applications (collectively, the "Site"), and how we use, share, and protect that information.

By using the Site, requesting meals, requesting a pickup, donating surplus food, notifying us of a simcha, or making a donation, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

Bubby's Kitchen is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID: 39-3395919) that rescues surplus food from simchas and events and distributes it to families in need throughout the Five Towns and Far Rockaway community.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you voluntarily provide to us, as well as certain information automatically collected when you use the Site. This includes:

Information You Provide to Us

Meal requests: Name, contact information (phone number and/or email), and delivery or pickup details when you request meals.
Pickup / surplus food donation requests: Name, contact information, event details, street address, neighborhood, and zip code when you notify us about a simcha or request a food pickup.
Location/fridge sign-up: Name and contact information if you sign up to host a Bubby's Kitchen refrigerator location or become a partner venue.
Donations: When you make a monetary donation, our third-party payment processor collects your name, contact information, and payment details directly. Bubby's Kitchen does not store your full payment card information.
Communications: Any information you provide when you email us, call us, or otherwise contact us directly.

Information Collected Automatically

Usage data: When you visit the Site, our hosting and analytics providers may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit.
Cookies and similar technologies: The Site may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate properly, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use the Site. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Site.

Fulfill meal requests and coordinate food pickups and deliveries;
Coordinate the collection of surplus food from simchas and events;

Process donations through our third-party payment processor;

Maintain records for our operations as a nonprofit organization, including for tax and compliance purposes;
Send occasional updates about Bubby's Kitchen's mission and impact, where you have provided contact information for that purpose;
Respond to inquiries and provide customer support;
Protect the safety, security, and integrity of the Site, our volunteers, and the community we serve.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers: With third-party vendors who help us operate the Site and our programs, including our website hosting provider (Framer), our web application platform (Base44), and our donation processing platform (Double Giving). These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their services and are not authorized to use it for any other purpose.
Volunteers and partner venues: With volunteers, drivers, and partner locations (such as host synagogues, event venues, and refrigerator locations) as necessary to coordinate food pickups and deliveries.
Legal requirements: If required to do so by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
Business transfers: In connection with any reorganization, restructuring, or transfer of our organization's operations, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Third-Party Services

Our Site and forms may link to or rely on third-party services, including but not limited to:

Double Giving for processing monetary donations;
Framer for website hosting;
Base44 for web application functionality;
Google services (such as Maps or Sheets) for displaying refrigerator/drop-off locations.

These third parties have their own privacy policies governing the use of your information, and we encourage you to review them. Bubby's Kitchen is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to maintain records for operational, legal, tax, and reporting purposes as a nonprofit organization. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

You may decline to provide certain information, though this may limit your ability to use certain features of the Site, such as requesting meals or pickups.
You may opt out of receiving communications from us at any time by contacting us using the information below or by using any unsubscribe mechanism provided in our communications.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us using the information below. We will respond to reasonable requests in accordance with applicable law.

10. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" feature. Our Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
